A downloadable prototype

Due to recent changes with unity, this project is being moved over into godot. This will set back progress a bit but overall is the better choice.

You awake in a dingy dungeon-looking place to find yourself equipped with a 3-slot bag and a mysterious glowing gem in-front of you. When you pick it up, your body starts to feel weird...


Of Guards and Gems (Working Title) is a 2D puzzle-stealth game which features 6 different gems showcasing unique powers combined to create interesting puzzles mixed with stealth mechanics.

Master your new-found abilities to sneak past the guards (no killing allowed!) to escape the dungeons!


Controls:

- WASD to move
- E to interact
- 1 2 or 3 to activate the gem in the corresponding inventory slot
(If stood on top of a gem that’s on the floor with a full inventory, these keys will drop the corresponding gem out of your inventory)
- Space to activate Gem Skill
- R to reload the current scene


Current Status Information:

Currently this project is just in the designing phase. I've created a basic Game Design Document to give an overview of this project here. I'm in the middle of creating a prototype featuring a sandbox of all the different powers to enable you to mess around with it and see how the abilities work! The prototype build will shortly be uploaded to here when it's ready soon.

The prototype will only be playable on windows at the moment via an exe, visually it'll be a mix of placeholders and assets found online (sources will be listed in the above linked GDD). This page will be updated as the prototype is being worked on. A video and screenshots will be provided closer to the point of the prototype being ready to be uploaded.
